"When deciding how Pearl and Amethyst would sound as a single entity, we knew that her theme would be powerful and magnificent. We felt that Pearl's influence would straighten out Amethyst's normal swinging beat, and Amethyst's influence would push Pearl's classy piano towards a more wild playing style. The result is this giant "fusion" theme (in more than one way)!"

Piano is Pearl's instrument, but the way it was played was in Amethyst's style

I seriously hope Opal comes back one day. She's such a cool fusion (her design is just GORGEOUS) but doesn't get much love in the show. Barely any lines. D:

Okay. Okay. I FUCKING LOVE Opal's design, okay? I think it's the slim elegance of Pearl, plus the flowing, luscious hair of Amethyst styled in an Avatar Korra-like way, all put together into one badass Giant Woman.

This specific fusion and fusion theme will always have a special place in my heart. Back when Opal first appeared, we'd never been actually introduced to fusions, we weren't used to it, and we certainly weren't used to aivi & surasshu's extraordinary tendency to mix specific characters leitmotifs to create fusion of their themes for their fusion themes (fittingly). So when this song first played and the giant woman's fists pierced the bird's stomach, everything about it screamed "BADASS BADASS BADASS".

The more i think about opal... the more i love her.

You Have Pearl. Rose's personal knight or close in command. She is extremely loyal and wants to save earth.

Then you ave Amethyst. One of the artificial gems that was originally design for evil. She is really playful and just doesn't want to be alone. She wants to do the right thing.

Just imagine the look on the homeworld gems when they see pearl and amethyst working together. I can just imagine the epicness of that unity of something so pure and something that was once corrupted joining forces and forming Opal. A gem Fusion Thats all about unity and balanced (also garnet lol i know.).

It just makes Opal all that more unique when you look at the background of both of these characters.

Opal's probably my favorite fusion (I don't really count Garnet since to me she's just 'Garnet'). I love her demeanour, I love her theme, I love how absolutely at peace she is. Amethyst and Pearl fusing like that seems REALLY therapeutic for both of them, and I wish we got to see it more often.

Steven Universe has to be one of the best Cartoon Network shows ever even better than the old Cartoon Network shows in my opinion

Opal is well balanced and she isn't overzealous like how Sugalite and Sardonyx can be.
clearly she is a strong fusion, and if pearl and Amethyst didn't attack each other verbally whenever something went wrong they could be as stable as Garnet

when i saw this episode i though it was personally ironic that amethyst + pearl=opal, because my moms birthstone is amethyst and my dad's is pearl, and both my siblings and I have opal as our birthstone! it was a really cool coincidence XD

Steven Universe....
There's just something majestic about this show....
Characters are really thought out, almost to the point that you cant pick a favorite.
It has a artstyle I've never seen before. beautifully drawn assists but the characters have a pop up feel. that some how blends in with the artstyle.
Everything complements the music and everything fits in together with it.
It has a lore I want to learn more about, and questions I want answered.
What is Garnets and Pearls Fusion look like. where did Peridot go even though Steven found her ship.
Who is this 'Yellow Diamond' is she, or maybe he as a rare gem, the Gems King/Queen of there home world?
WHY IS THIS SHOW SO DAMN AWESOME!?
Have to also mention all the songs.
This show, is something you will watch and never forget...
