I have the first version of Flipside 400 and have used it for years. I want to upgrade but wish some things were different. What I'd like to see in the IV version: 1) Make the front pocket more functional. Right now, it can hold items, but its usability is quite limited. An expandable front pocket could be a great addition. 2) Waist belt that is removable 3) Top access 4) I carry both a tripod and a water bottle, so I need pockets on both sides. I considered the ProTactic 450, but it’s much heavier than the Flipside 400. The search continues.

Had ordered a flipside 400 aw ii and a fastpack 250 aw ii last year and went with the fastpack because only back access wasn't my fav and I was new to camera backpacks. The side access on this 3rd gen is amazing. Love the more rigid look to it too. Just waiting until my local camera store stocks them or Amazon does. Only request would be to make the hip belt removeable!

I like it but the only thing that's putting me off is the waist strap, I prefer one I can remove if I don't need it.

i just received flipside 400 aw iii and 500 aw ii to test out which one i like more. I like many design elements of aw iii, esp the side access - but think 500 aw iii would be perfect if you guys made it.

Looks very nice. I'm using one of the old Flipsides and this update fixes most of my ussues with it. Might have to grab one. :)

I love your FlipSide Trek 450.
The backpack is almost perfect and a real space saver.
But maybe you still plan to improve a little bit.
A few more loops or eyelets would be fine. E.g. also on the underside, so that you can still transport a little something.
The pockets on the hip belt are great, maybe something like that on the shoulder belt. I would love to have a fourth size with even more space and a larger daypack.

So you can’t cary both a water bottle and a tripod? Looks like it’s either one or the other due to the design.

Is possible to use the bag as a "table" with the waist strap, avoiding the contact with the floor, as in the previous versions of the flipside models? Thanks

I use Sony a series. Will the camera sit flush against the padding of the opening? Most Lowepro bags are built for DSLRs so it leaves the camera rattling around.

Is it deep enough for a Nikon Z9? The Z9 is nearly 16cm deep so I wonder if it will fit or not. THANKS

Got a TNF borealis right now but I'm looking for a durable camera backpack, I think Lowepro does a good job.

Love the 400. But its was kind of funny when you mentioned the side access for a small camera. And you pulled out a full framed Sony with a battery grip and a 70-200 lens. If that's small what big? great review and again I love my 400 model.

In the 400, can you fold the belt into that slit where it is attached to hide it when you don't want to use it? That belt tend to be cumbersome. That was my issue in my old Fastpack. I had to cut it off since I really don't get to use it.

Seems odd that a replacement interior pouch isn't available as a replacement part, per customer service (for the 300 AW III).
