When I was young I was terrified of people who were mentally handicapped because I couldn’t read them! After a while you begin learning the cues and suddenly you begin to see them like anyone else! A good teaching lesson for young children (and adults), to help them overcome the fear (or misunderstanding) of those who are “different”! You did a fantastic job humanizing this family and hopefully others who don’t fit to the “norm” (whatever that is)!😀👍

Nobody asks to be born, or chooses their parents or circumstances. This family has many challenges, but they stuck together and they look after each other. That’s certainly more than I can say for plenty of wealthy educated families.
