I don’t think people realize how much planning and organization goes in to running a household. You are a treasure.

Fresh pasta makes a bigger difference than people think it will. This looks great.

It’s so interesting to me that we do so many things the same way. My father was born in 1902 and he taught me to cook. He was a wonderful cook who always wanted his own restaurant. But we were poor. So I learned the ‘old’ ways. Probably a lot like your grandma taught you. I dry my noodles on hangers just like you do! He taught me to cook everything from scratch. I do buy flour, butter, milk and eggs because I have to but we hunt and fish and I have two large gardens to tend so I am able to put up as much food for my husband and I as I can. All my adult kids want my recipes but I have to tell them they aren’t written down. I should have insisted they learn, like you, but I didn’t. You are incredible to handle all that you do. I really enjoy listening to you and learning more about you and your family and of course, food! Thank you so much for making these great videos! PS- I hate wearing shoes outside and I loved seeing the bunny in your kitchen! My sister had a bunny in the house when we were kids :)

My maternal grandma and I cooked and baked together. She taught me many Norwegian and Swedish recipes. Also making homemade noodles with my mom. I canned with my fraternal grandmother who was German and French Canadian. They are long gone and I miss them dearly. I am eternally grateful for all they taught me and the memories we created together! 💯❣️

I passed along your video to my best friend. My favorite part of all of your homemade recipes is that you have a base core of something, then you wing it. Perfect. We trust your families opinion and they love your soups, breads and everything else. Being a prior Mennonite, you bring your knowledge to the viewer and we trust your old, tried and true methods. Thank you for all you do, Ruth Ann.

My family and I love homemade chicken noodle soup! You just helped me up my game by showing me how to make the egg noodles from scratch! You're just as good a teacher as your grandmother!!

My parents grew up in a mennonite community here in Canada. Our chicken noodle soup is quite different. The broth is simmered with star anise, pepper corns and bay leaf and that is it, no veggies. And then our noodles were always hand cut after rolling the dough up jelly roll fashion. We covered the rolled out dough with flour to prevent sticking before rolling and cutting, and then shook out the flour with a sieve. Big job but I still do it and love it. Thanks for sharing your version!

I am 64 years old and have loved to cook all my life. My mother taught me well. Ruth Ann, watching your videos inspires me in the kitchen but also brightens my heart and deepens my love and appreciation of God. I feel this YouTube channel is part of your ministry. It creates a thirst within me for a closer connection to God and the experience of wholesomeness in my life.

I have made these noodles per your recipe and LOVE them! My grandmother hoards them for her 'special occasions' when I give her some❤️

I have nothing but awe and admiration for the farmers wife. You have a very lovily countenance which is the product of a productive life. Most of us complain about having to do much more than stir a pot.

I’m a soup all year woman but Especially in the fall! Great tips and tricks. I especially liked shredding the carrot! Another good thing was watching you manage your time and work throughout the day ❤️

Loved seeing you and kids barefoot in the garden. Soup is beautiful. Anytime we feel a cold coming on we make chicken soup. Tfs and God bless.

My mama made her noodles straight on the counter making a well in the flour and adding eggs in the well. She always rolled hers out and cut with a knife. To dry she laid the noodles on a brown paper sack with extra flour so our chicken and noodles was thickened by that. So delicious. Thanks for reminding me how to make noodles as I haven’t done it from scratch in many years. I’m going back to making from scratch.

This was such a fun video to watch! I learned how to make homemade pasta, something I have never seen demonstrated before! The soup looks absolutely delicious! Watching the clothes being hung on the line, the boys setting the table and the family sitting down to eat together was so delightful! Thank you for sharing this wholesome recipe!

I am tempted to try making homemade noodles now! The way things are going in America, learning the old ways is important and necessary.

A classic! There is nothing more comforting than a bowl of chicken noodle soup and I don't mean the kind in a can that many of us grew up with. I have never made noodles from scratch but I have a sister-in-law who does and they are delicious! Thank you so much for the recipe☺
