Dark Souls - Sif Alternate Cutscene (plus Artorias' armour)

For anyone that wanted to see it but hasn't yet. Also included the fight to see if there was an alternate ending.

I like to think that, once Sif realizes it's you, the person who saved them, they're no longer defending Artorias's grave for the sheer sake of defending it, Sif knows you have no bad intentions, but they want to keep you from the ring so you don't risk meeting the same fate that Artorias did.

this is kind of sad, all he wanted to do was protect us from falling to the abyss. i take solice in the fact you can use his soul for the best sheild in the game, even in death he protects me from harm... i always keep him with me....

If you do fight Sif without the DLC, he’ll think you’re just an invader, trespassing his masters grave, and he’ll do anything to protect it.

Once you save him in the Abyss and kill Manus, once you enter the arena, Sif will think again you’re a trespasser, but once he sniffs you and gets your scent, even then he remembers that you were the one that saved him and fought Manus. Knowing that you need the Covenant of Artorias to fight the Four Kings, he lets out a mournful howl, unwillingly picks up his masters sword and prepares to test you to see if you’re ready.

Its amazing how Dark Souls can tell a story without words.

First playthrough: I don't wanna kill him he's too fluffy.

Second playthrough: Please don't make me do this! I saved you Sif, please don't make me kill a beautiful creature that I saved.

The reason he fights you is because he is trying to protect you. He doesn't want you to end up like Artorias. So its either you or ;(

Nobody ever talks about how the chosen undead reaches out to comfort sif and she pulls away. That's the part that always gets me.

It's because I rescued him in the DLC. You can find him just before you fight the last boss. So if you rescue him before you've done this fight, the cutscene will be this one because he recognises you. Artorias' armour makes no difference. He only fights you to stop you getting the Abyss Walker ring and facing the same fate that Artorias did. It's very sad really.

God damn it.. I hate fighting Sif. And this cutscene just makes it worse.. and in the dickest of moves FromSoft deletes your abysswalker ring in NG+ so you can't even skip fighting Sif. :(

I unlocked this alternate cutscene, Actually Sif don't want to fight you because she remember you saved her from the abyss, so sad I cry when I watch this cutscene :'(

1:37 That camera angle is just genius. By not showing his entire face we get the feeling that he's..like he's doing this fight even though he doesn't want to.

Honestly thinking of replaying the game and joining the forest covenant. To protect the last survivor of that sad tale.
