I'm playing Dark Souls for the first time after watching a livestream of the game. I didn't pay attention to how Sif handled the sword at the time, but now knowing that Artorias was left handed, I realized that when Sif picks up the sword, she flips it around so the blade is on her left side.

Sif fights left handed because Artorias fought left handed.

Artorias actually lost to manus because of sif funilly enough his arm was shattered blocking a blow meant for sif and he had to give up the shield to protect sif meaning he fought against the abyss with 1 hand and no shield.

Artorias is the ultimate badass to me, not only does he beat the ass of every undead that comes his way the first time he fights them.

he does it fucking handicapped, doing flips, spins & shit with an entire broken arm.
that's got to hurt.

Damn it. I was hoping there was a way to complete the game without hurting Sif. I actually stopped playing 2/3 through the battle when she starts limping and making sloppy attempts at attacking. I haven’t played since… My wife and I rescue dogs (and have been for the past 15 years). We currently have 9 in our home as of writing this. 2 Belgian Malinois (1 male, 1 female), A German Shepherd (female), A Rhodesian Ridgeback (male), 2 Pit Bulls (both female), A boxer (male), An ebony Chow Chow (female) and a Presa Canario (male). Both of the Belgians are “retired” military dogs and the Shepherd came from the PA State Police. I know it sounds sappy, but the bond between a human and their dog can run deeper than family ties ever could. The thought of Sif guarding her owner’s resting place was such a display of loyalty and love that I literally couldn’t find it in myself to harm her. I guess I’ll never finish the game because even if it is just a game, I can’t bring myself to do it. I could care less about humans because they can protect themselves, communicate, etc., but dogs can’t. I’d let 100 people die to save my dogs and I’ve already witnessed that my dogs are willing to give their lives for me. We had an idiotic methhead attempt to break into our home at 02:15 just after Christmas. He did he make it in through the window, but was immediately met by roughly 1, 000 pounds of pissed off dogs. He reportedly needed 328 stitches and remained in hospital for 2 weeks due to his injuries. The asshole stabbed my Malinois 7 times, but she never even whimpered and absolutely refused to let go of the intruder. I apologize for the lengthy comment, I got a little worked up thinking back to the initial encounter with Sif.

I'm at my first playthough.
After the bell gargoyles I didn't know were to go so I kinda just rushed the darkroot garden and beat the butterfly and sif. Now I get this recommended to me and I feel bad, lol.
