The DX-ECU is an optional module for power wheelchairs that have DX Dynamic Controls. It provides a way to control external devices to the chair, typically a communication machine, environmental control unit, or a computer. These can then be controlled by the wheelchair user’s joystick or other input device.
It has eight relay switch contacts. Some DX-Systems can support two DX-ECU modules, thereby providing up to 16 relay switch contacts in total.

The DX-ECU is connected to the wheelchairs DX bus, and normally put out of view underneath the seat.
There are two modes that the DX-ECU can be set up. With mouse mode ON or mouse mode OFF.

This can be set ON or OFF within the power wheelchair settings using the Dynamic Controls programming dongle. As the default setting on a wheelchair is set to mouse mode ON it allows you to use the DX-ECU once connected to the wheelchair.

With mouse mode ON deflections of the joystick will momentary control 4 difference relays. An optional interface cable from Dynamic Controls connects the relay output, a 9 pin connector to 5 jack sockets.
