I just realised that there's a bit of missing audio at 4:09 - the full sentence should be "The four custom chips were merged into one multi-talented chip to save on manufacturing costs, and for the same reason they chose 3.5” floppy disks for the system’s media."

I was at E3 in 2004, and yes, the Phantom was there. I did see someone playing it until it BSODed. I tried to get a picture, but they noticed me and quickly restarted the system :(

A little bonus fact about the Red Jade: after cancellation, Sony bought Ericsson and used (most of) their ideas to make the PSP.

"Ever looked at your Super Nintendo and thought, "but this isn't enough to kill a man""?

Ahahahahaha.

Cancelled consoles are so forgettable that it's crazy to hear that some of these were actually shown at E3 and other expos. This was such a cool watch!

"ever take a look at your Nintendo and say well this isn't heavy enough to kill a man" you cracked me up, that was hilarious

I've never heard a vagina referred to as a "clowns pocket" before... this is new to me... thank you.

Awesome video Pete! Some interesting systems I’d never heard of. I clearly remember the hype train behind the Phantom though.

Great video Pete
Some really obscure & crazy looking systems here. Awesome how some of them did see the light of day and that collectors have managed to get their hands on them!!
The Sega Neptune and the Panther LoL

Never even heard of half of these. Taito Wowow is a superb name for a console!

I remember hearing about the phantom! Then it just disappeared. Thanks for reminding me about it. I did have an interest in the phantom.

Nice, I had never heard of the Red Jade before. It's always nice to learn something new, especially regarding retro-gaming history! Thanks man.

Fantastic video Pete! Such a shame about the M2... followed that closely back in the day but sadly it wasn’t meant to be!
