It always amazes me how fast somebody will quickly reply. "That isn't true socialism" when given an example of when it doesn't work. Yet I've never once heard open example saying where it did work...

France, Germany, The Nederlands, all have strong social practices and are not bankrupt. Greace bankruptcy was due to many factors, but not because of its social practices. But hey, the propaganda against the social practices is old as hell.

Socialism works if EVERYONE involved agrees that it will work and we all work to benefit others instead of for personal gain. Sadly, it has never worked because you can't A) get an entire country to agree this will work and B) get an incorruptible group of leaders to properly coordinate the distribution of tasks and goods. We could literally do away with money if everyone in the world agreed that everyone else has equal value and is deserving of the fruits of our labor. Fat chance of that happening though.

So socialism as a concept can work but we as humans aren't mature enough not to abuse it. Thats whats I got out of it.
