That was hilarious and you are not alone. I have to look up which one is reversed EVERY time I need to remove them. Wishing you guys the best and hope Kyle is getting better.

This is classic! I definitely remember the skinned knuckles my 1st time trying to change that pedal out myself…the very kind mechanic at my local bike shop explained the issue to me with a straight face…I’m sure they had a well-deserved laugh the moment I left the shop with my new pedal installed! :) Thanks April…you & Kyle show the genuine MTB experience…am hoping that Kyle’s moving quickly toward a full recovery to and all else is is good for you guys! Cheers from Chico! :)

You hit the nail on the head here - so to speak! Hit that spanner harder! (nothing like more brute force needed). As you'd expect, it happened to me just lately - couldn't remove the pedal & wreaked a spanner in the process, which of course made me think, was I turning the thing the right way? I don't know, but I thought the maxim was: Right pedal, righthanded thread, left pedal, lefthanded thread - until that is, nothing budges (to be honest, probably due to steel to alloy corrosion - try taking an alloy seat post left in a steel frame for years!)
Thanks for the video post & as always rooting for you two & Kyle to be completely well ASAP.

My buddy spends 45 seconds mentally rehearsing which way he's gonna turn the pedals, and when he finally gets going he still gets it wrong :P

That's hilarious! 😂
Really hope Kyle is feeling better soon, but you should definitely keep doing these! 💪

40 years of wrenching on bikes... so many, "just remember THIS and it'll be easy..." tips... and I still forget.

"pedal on forward" or "back off" is how I remember which directions to turn the wrench, (with bike upright, and me looking at inside of pedal) but that does not help my strength.... I need to start yelling WAR!

It's actually easy. Righty tighty, unless it's the left side. But then if your pedals have no wrench indent, you are dyslexic, and have to work from the other side... well at least you have a 50% chance.

Always happens to me 🥲 I think I might put a label on my pedals so I won't forget which one tightens on which side 🥲

Been there. Why is it so hard to remember which pedal is reverse threaded? I can't remember even now.

Bloody hilarious!!! You almost showed real anger there. If you were a bloke, you would have thrown your bike at the wall. Good to see you're keeping your spirits up. How's the bearded fella going? And why aren't you putting up more vids of your own dare devil pursuits? Don't tell me that Kyle is being too demanding as a patient! Miss you guys. Hope to see more of your adventures soon!!! ❤

I actually wish she would not have done the voice over, it would have been so much better with April saying those words! Hoping you guys are doing well, waiting patiently to get more April, and Kyle MTB! Winter on it's way might have to get on the ski slopes on one of those ski bikes you had out last year;)

Every single time I have to google it. I just dont want to mess up my (really hard to find at the moment) somewhat expensive cranks.

Shimano SPD pedals say which is right and left and which way to turn to tighten... Always have to look
