This was so real. My mother's family migrated from Bangladesh in waves, and still have the homes they left behind in their hearts. This weaves through so many stories I heard as I grew up. Beautifully potrayed by the print! Thanks you.

2:12 Incorrect Subtitles at this timestamp. He said 400-500 years, not 4000 years.

How can there be 4000 year old mosques waen Islam came to be just around 1400 years ago?

Most of Bangladesh conveniently and quickly forgot India's help in independence from brutal pakistan rule.
Sad reality.

Our hearts blead, our ancestors left all aur belongings... To save our lives to save our religion... Still now the person who lived through this is alive, my grandfather.

we (my great grandfather and forefathers) were Bengali Hindu zamindars in faridpur district of Bangladesh, my grandmother told me that her mother in law told her about how big and grand our haveli was. So sad to see these in this condition. I hope Bangladesh govt takes over these grand houses and converts them into govt office, district office or govt guest house etc. This will preserve them.

My grandfather has not left .because he was gov doc. He loved his people he was serving in different govt hospitals. Now we stuck with severely polarised fundamental Bangladesh

After watching so many documentaries from The Print, this one touched my heart, may be because for the first time I'm hearing stories from my ancestral land.

*Demographics is Destiny*

It took 1300 years for Muslims to make up 25% of Hindustan population and snatch 25% of it's land in the name of Pakistan.
Current rate of Islamization of India is way faster than it was at anytime in the history of India including during time of Mughals. Because nobody had "Family planning" in the old times. Currently only Muslims are not having Family planning.
