For chicken coating:
All purpose flour
Corn flour /corn starch

I grew up in the 70s and I can remember the chicken tasted way better than todays KFCs the reason is there’s a high demand for chicken so the chickens are given hormones so they grow fast making the meat tougher.
KFCs chicken just isn’t the same.
