Ma Rainey's Black Bottom's Band of Brothers

Strong Oscar buzz for Netflix' Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, set over the course of a day in the life of legendary singer and Mother of the Blues Ma Rainey. She and her players are recording a new song as her players, Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo, Michael Potts and the late Chadwick Boseman navigate rough waters between the legendary singer and her white producers. Denzel Washington's adaptation of the award wining stage play is on Netflix Dec. 18. What She Said Anne Brodie spoke with the veteran boys in the band.
