All of the eulogies were very sincere, impressive, and meaningful. President Carter was a role model for works of mercy, peace and Justice, and love and kindness. He was a true Christian and patriot. Praying for our country as we move forward with the next four years that we the people do not lose sight of what loving one another, service, and kindness look like and what Jesus calls us to. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

President Carter opposed Israel's crushing of Palestinians because he wanted peace for both peoples and for this Carter deserves praise, not suspicion

Carter was always a true Christian. He was never a show off like anyone else.

He fought the good fight, and stood up for our best values.

And as the late Argentine publisher Jacobo Timerman - whose life Carter saved - put it: "Carter increased democratic consciousness in the U.S. itself."

Who will judge the different attitudes towards sexuality, marriage and life? We tend to forget that Jesus did not judge his followers. As a Catholic, I admire the integrity and leadership that Jimmy Carter has given to humanity. May he RIP.

I was also wondering about Carter's shifting through the prolife issue, and I thought Dr Craycraft gave a very fair assessment of Carter from the Catholic point of view. Carter as a Protestant did not have the fullness of Truth contained in the Catholic Church, so he would have been limited in his understanding of everything, not just prolife issues, through no fault of his own. Dr Craycraft credits Carter for truly being a devout Christian up to the limits of his own understanding. I can fully accept that assessment. 🙂

Interesting that the only 2 two Catholic presidents were in the "Democrat" Party (as Dr Craycraft tellingly calls the Democratic party), as was President Carter, the most devout Christian leader of our nation.

I'd rather spend eternity with people like Jimmy Carter, Pope Francis than with Fanatical Christians and Catholics, Ronald Reagan, Trump and MAGA. That would be hell for me!!

He was a great man. Baptists need to learn from his Christ like life.

The Catholic Church needs to stop being so narrow minded on the abortion issue and right to life. Look who you got for President now because you pushed congregations to vote on one issue! There is absolutely no comparison on human decency, love of neighbor and following Christ between President Carter and Trump. President Carter comes out ahead on every count. Yet had these two men run against each other, the church would be preaching from the pulpit about right to life and vote your conscience in their not so subtle way pushing people to vote Trump. While I would not have an abortion myself, it is a complicated issue and men - all men including men of faith- need to stay out of it since there are no consequences for them if they get a woman pregnant. First, the woman with an unwanted pregnancy did not get pregnant on her own. Yet the church wants the consequences to fall solely on the woman. That isn’t justice! That’s misogyny! What should the consequences be for the man who at present is free to walk? Where is the church’s outrage on assault weapons? What about the right to life of schoolchildren who are in danger being murdered in their classroom? What about the right to healthcare so people don’t die of something completely preventable if they could afford it? The church needs to do a some deep self reflection lest continue to be duped by false prophets.

Would be nice if all guests would call the Democratic Party by it's name, instead of "Democrat Party." Basic courtesy requires it.
