We're onboard a refurbished 777-300ER of British Airways flying one of their premier routes; London Heathrow to Singapore Changi. It's an overnight flight in their 'twin' economy seats at the back of the plane. I'll try their special meal pre order, and we'll get to find out what their refitted aircraft are like. Spoiler, they're so far ahead of the old cabin it's unreal.

Awww man, sorry about your Grandad. My Granda died when I was in Tokyo…I visited him in Hospital the day before I left and even though I may not have thought at the time, deep down inside I knew it would be the last time, and I cried as I left. He loved hearing about my holidays, and reading about the places I would visit. I well up just thinking about it.

Thank you for your videos Jamie! I'll be taking my first flight from SG to London soon, and your BA flight videos are really helpful!

A great report as always, Jamie. I loved the comparison graphics!

And what a lovely and touching tribute to your grandad. I used to do the same with my mum, we would sit down together with the atlas so she could see where I would be visiting on my trips. I would also write out a detailed itinerary for her so that she could follow along in real time! Sadly my mum passed away two years ago. She didn't have a lot to leave me, but she had taken out a couple of life assurance policies so she could leave me a little something. I know that she would be so pleased that I'm using that money to travel more!

My sincere condolences to you and your family. 🙏

I was fortunate to travel business class LAX to LHR and everything, including the food, was excellent

A really comprehensive trip report and a lovely tribute to your grandfather. Thanks for uploading this one.
Not sure I'd rush to fly BA economy to Singapore when SQ and the ME3 carriers offer a superior service, but BA have definitely tried to improve their economy product on the ageing 777 fleet.

Wow…What a lovely video. Even though I never fly economy on a long haul, I thoroughly enjoyed this journey with you. You’re very good at what you’re doing. All the best. 🥂👊🏾

It’s good that they finally caught up with their competition after almost a decade…

Thanks for this video. I recently travelled in their refurbished 777 on the way back from Saudi, and we got upgraded to business. Sad to know that it’s at the expense of economy, making it 3-4-3 as opposed to 3-3-3

RIP Grandad! So many similarities between the two of you.

Did they upgrade all of their 777’s? I’m flying to Florida in August on a BA 777 and would be glad to know that I’ll be flying in a refreshed cabin

Bless your Grandad. He will be watching from above and keeping you safe. Treasure his memory and the times yoiu had together. When my Grandad died I couldn't have cared less, nor when my Grandmother died, as they were just about the most vile pair you could wish to meet - infact I was glad humanity was free of them.

"Game changer" is such an overused phrase. This is an incremental adjustment in the product in order to bring it up to a comparable level as its competitors in order to claw back lost market share. Game changing would be the airport operating authority/UK gov't adjusting the ridiculous taxes & fees charged to passengers. Case in point, BA has the most advantageous schedule in terms of getting from the Middle East/Gulf region to Caribbean destinations. You can do it all in one day since the outbound flights leave the Gulf region at o'dark thirty. Even with booking an award flight in business, the taxes & fees are substantial for transiting through LHR, and lets not forget the security lines. For me as a yank, I will take a US routing to get to the West Indies through NYC or MIA rather than deal with London airports, and I say this as a Qatar Silver member with Avios that I can use on BA metal. Its going to be some time before this cabin makes its way to the "Beach Fleet".

6:15 definitely not. The forward lav on an Emirates A380 is huge. You could swing a cat in it.

Prefer to fly SQ on that route flying with them later this year on there a350 from man

Do this route a lot - Singapore (like other Asian Carriers such as JAL, Korean, Thai) are still 3, 3, 3 seats across. (Reason to avoid Emirates Qatar as well unless A380 )Category killer for me - hate being bumped on narrow isles. Plus I reckon Singapore at least equal and often better than BA in all aspects.

Good 'ole B.A attitude nothing's changed over the years since re their economy cramped seat's, much prefer Singapore Airlines to be honest., but each to ones own ha?. Awesome flight review there Jamie, thanks for uploading this video👍✈
