guarantee its the Everjade mod and its libraries, also any shadow, lighting, and particle mods. These mods impact fps most in my experience.

I remember during quarantine era, I played a giant modded terraria playthru on a potato laptop cuz my country's poor and it was one of the greatest times of my life doing literally whatever I wanted and not being able to beat mutant cuz of skill issue and too low FPS... It was a blast and maybe one day Ill finally play a super modded 1.4 playthru.

If you use the world generator mod, you can watch the world get gened in real time, and if there is an issue with a mod(in my experience) it will actually just stop genning when it gets to that mod in the last, might be worth trying if you wanna give those other mods a try and see for sure if it was shadows or not that had the issue, may give you a better idea.

Its impressive that it runs like 30 fps with 100 mods. Maybe try installing high fps mod (turn on most of the stuff), nitrate (turn off experimental in config first), and lag remover. Its a really big fps boost, see if it actually helps.

I'd love to try something like this. My pc would probably melt though. Too bad there isn't some sort of tool that can tell you which mods are compatible.

Me having a mod addiction, I would scroll through my list of hundreds of mods, spending hours to fix it just for my game to run in slow-mo.

Lag is so weird in Tmod Loader, for example, I notice that Particle Libraries really slow down the game, also Calamity has some weird particle settings that can slow down the game if you don't have a good PC.

I like how Calamity, Thorium, and Redemption work fine with each other, I read some Calamity changelogs that said it is compatible with them; and also mods like Stars Above, Fargo's Souls, or Spirit mod work with almost anything.

I know from making a super modded world myself that Homeward Journey absolutely works with Thorium because the Aquatic Depths generate after the HJ Abyss, so it still generates fine

I've played through Homeward Journey with Calamity / Thorium before. The Homeward Journey Abyss will spawn opposite from the Sulfur seas and the important structure from it will actually end up in the underworld.

I’ve done this before with a playthrough and I actually got it to successfully work, albeit I had to play around with it for a bit

my list was :
Calamity (+ all addons)
Thorium (+ thorium boss rework)
Homeward Journey
Fargos (+ DLC)
Spirit Mod
The Stars Above
Metroid Mod
Gensokyo Mod
Consolaria Mod
+ every QOL mod you can think of, as well as graphic mods such as Lights n Shadows

Before anyone tells me, yes I know I’m a mad man (FPS worked fine though and there was not as much overlap with biomes as you see in the video)

man i understand the pain of Tmod crashing and the game freezing when making a big modpack, i personally gave up making one because of the many crashes and frustration afterwards when managing to run it but freezes and lag, Huge respect for having the balls to not give up and try to make the biggest possible modpack, also can you do a similar video where you try to make terraria look visually amazing as hell with shaders, mods and stuff?

I'm going to combine these with my modpack to make an even bigger one

200 + mods, let's hope my computer can handle the storage requirements

Or Tmodloader, never thought I'd use up the whole storage capacity

Omg thanks for mentioning Lost Port!
Edit: it has quite a bit more content than just the port itself

That map was an absolute mess, and I'm all for it. If only the FPS issue could be fixed, because this sounds like an awful (fun(awful)) time. I can't imagine how long the world took to generate. Calamity alone makes worlds generate 5x slower, but this massive pile of random mods must've been so very slow. It's just a shame that no matter what, we always return to the same old mods. Sure, popular mods are popular for a reason, but surely there's a lot out there that's been overlooked. Maybe nothing as bloated as Calamity, sure, but still. There are a good bunch of mods in the list that I didn't recognize, so I definitely want to check them out later.

I saw Assorted Crazy Things in the list, and it makes me wish they would come back. They teased a lot of neat stuff, but they went silent after they added the two new goblin summons and overhauled the hell out of the original goblin girl. I was looking forward to the new companion they teased that looked like you had to feed it to unlock it.
