Normal Delivery After Cesarean Section | Medicover Hospitals
In this video, Dr. Anusha Reddy B, Consultant Obstetrician, and Gynecologist, Medicover Woman & Child Hospitals, HITEC City, speaks on the chances of normal delivery after cesarean section.
The success rate of normal delivery after a cesarean section is about 70 to 74%. That means many people can go for normal delivery without any doubt. Before that, assist the risk factors that you have previously, which are contraindications to a normal delivery. If you have hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, or other comorbidities, all these should get assisted. If you had a cesarean section previously, if it's a lower uterine segment cesarean section or an upper uterine segment cesarean section, or if you had any surgeries in the past, normal delivery is not possible in such cases. It's better to visit a tertiary care center if you want to have normal delivery following a cesarean section. When you want to go for normal delivery, go for counseling before the delivery. If you don't have any risk factors, and your delivery earlier was more than 18 months, you are the ideal candidate for the normal delivery. After a cesarean section, there are some risk factors for normal birth, such as the possibility of scar rupture, which can lead to many lethal complications.
