Travel protection is fantastic. I got sick and required medical assistance in a foreign country. Chase paid me 250$ ( 300 claim with 50$ deductible)as medical expenses as I used this card to book the trip. In my opinion this is the best travel insurance / protection card in market .

I currently have the Venture X and CSP, but I’m thinking about upgrading to the CSR since they’re opening a Sapphire Lounge at my home airport, PHL. I’ll still be keeping the Venture X.

If you already have global entry, you can actually use this credit to pay for someone else’s (who you trust) global entry too! Great informative video!!!

It is interesting you dropped this today. My wife used the 1 free PP visit to the Chase LGA lounge this week for a weekend trip. I wanted to see if it made sense for us to look into the CSR or RC cards for Sapphire lounge access. We talked through it over brunch this afternoon. Her verdict: it was nice, but she wouldn't go out of her way to use a lounge if it didn't make sense (especially going to the airport early). So, no CSR for me, as I'm not chasing credits to offset that $625. Of course, I flew from LGA terminal B 4 times this year and didn't even burn up my visit. I suppose the 1 visit per year with the VX priority pass will be enough for us for now. I understand the travel protections, but I just can't get my head around the cost of this card (and I feel the same with the Amex Platinum). I'm just not the target market.

Wow, look at how much a slight tweak can change one's opinion! I remember how bullish you were about the CSR. But really, I have the CSP and the DoorDash credit has been great. I found a use case where I pick up my wife's favorite bottle of wine at my local liquor store and it also happens to be just right under $10.00 so the credit completely offsets the wine. With the CSR that I plan on upgrading to, I'll be able to get two bottles of wine monthly in which me and my wife would normally do anyways when we have stay at home date nights. Great breakdown Luke!

Great video! I agree the chase tri or quad fecta is a solid way to accrue points. And the redemption options are way better then most. If only they could get it to equal the cap1

Great content, the CSR is primary and the Venture X is my DFW lounge card. I honestly would like to get the AMEX Platt, however I don't know if I am ready for coupon madness. I most of the time get credit from doordash but not always. Besides the next time I get my Chase Offers statement credit for the Dollar General I'm going to cry a little now!

Hit the 48 month for a new bounus. Was considering getting the reserve but the preferred came out with the 60, 000 point $300 bounus so I went with that again. I tranfer out to partners most the time so the 50% bounus is nice but not used that often.

Great video Luke, and really agree that CSR has a lot of value. However, their insurance is nowhere near as good as advertised for domestic partners. The latter are very restrictively defined in the terms and conditions, which sucks. And Chase needs 2 weeks to reply to a basic question in the insurance portal. That is not up to speed and I explained it to the complaint agent as follows: if you waste 10+ hours of my time over 2 months for the insurance so far, the travel insurance is worth nothing to me, since I chose not to waste my time in this way, and will rather book a separate insurance next time. And the insurance is the main benefit of the CSR over CO VX, for example. That business end Chase complaint folks understood. And a clear warning for anyone having a domestic partner and using this card - to read the terms. This issue should not be a problem for married couples and families, although I trust that Chase will find a way to waste your time too. So overall, I like the card, but the edge over the CO VX may or may not be worth the hassle.

I can build back up easier I think on Alaska because I can transfer to Alaska from BILT and from Marriott Bonvoy points. Thoughts?
