What's funny is that this is actually being filmed outdoors ( you can see the wind blowing her hair) . In the early days of the silents there were no massive well- lit sound stages yet. There were dozens and dozens of small movie companies in California operating on a shoestring budget who would set up small outdoor sets on a lot they owned in order to utilize the natural daylight for filming. No need to worry about interfering sounds because of course they were silent .

Looked her up on Wikipedia she died in 1984, she was in her 80s.
