No se puede hacer más lento, René Lavand's signature piece of card magic performed by Mahdi Gilbert. This is an oil and water that was made world famous by René Lavand. Mahdi studied this piece for years and it is one of the first pieces of card magic he had learnt. It's grown with him and he's grown with it throughout the years. In 2016, Mahdi Gilbert fooled Penn & Teller on Penn and Teller: Fool Us with sleight of hand without hands with his version of this piece of card magic.

Mahdi - "It cannot be done any slower."
Me - "It cannot be done any better!"
I so enjoyed your performance - especially the close-up camera angles. Excellent!

Mahdi, this version is SO beautiful and smooth. Most people don't realize how many hundreds or even thousands of hours can go into (re)designing a trick that looks so clean and simple when a professional does it, but is actually quite a feat when you have to actually sit down and dedicate time to making it work AND make it look good for spectators. Thank you sir for sharing your talent.

I'm usually pretty good at figuring these out, but, no matter how many times I see this... nothing.... You are a wizard!

God damn, no real cuts and it's an even better presentation than when you were on the show. So impressive.

I figured out what method you are doing, but even if I watch this very carefully I cannot actually catch you doing it. This is one of the cleanest, smoothest performances I have ever seen. Great job!

You know with how easy it is to find out how magic tricks are done nowadays it really kills the wonder. Especially with simple card tricks, however I have been absolutely stupefied by you and found myself gasping in wonder like a child. Thanks for the magic.

The first time I seen this trick was on world's greatest magic part 2 by a one-handed magician René Valand. I put the tape on slow motion to learn how the trick was done. Practiced and practiced until I mastered it still one of my favorite tricks I do. My favorite way to do the trick was the second method you did in this video. Very good technique impressive.

This is incredible Mahdi. I was re-watching some Fool Us and saw your spot again. Came here to see what you have been up to and now seeing this from essentially the perspective of P&T I'm even more amazed. Best wishes keep being awesome!

I've watched this video 5 times. I can't work out how it is done, and I'm happy with that.

i hate card deck tricks... especially basic ones with no flair or gimmicks ... but i can honestly say this was amazing and it grabbed my full attention and was just as entertaining!! i kid you not, in all my lifetime, this is the only card deck/set trick set up and presentation that ive enjoyed and dig! thank you for your hard work!

Normally I can't figure out how tricks are done. And it frustrates me. This is the first time I figured out how it was done and the first time a magic trick has given me the inspiration to actually learn magic. I feel like I'm magic right now since pen and Teller could not figure it out but i could. For the first time, I think I could actually do magic. With that said besides the vocal magic you do, the main bit of magic you do is still not an easy thing to pull off perfectly each time. Takes practice. So well done. I love this trick.

I love all the presentation of this video; edition, music, your voice and narration... and of course, the impressive trick. Very elegant and with a mystique mood, the design of the deck is also great.

Congratulations on your work and keep going!

Mesmerizing.

I thought maybe watching the truck again instead of on Fool Us that I’d get some kind of clue to how you did it.

I got my clue, magic is real.

Thanks Mahdi!
