Remember these from the 90s? 🪰 #recycledplastic

In the summer, we're constantly getting flies buzzing around our office, doing our heads in. 🪰

But we recall a simpler, less buzzy, fly-free time at our gran's house when we were younger. And we remembered that she had the wisdom of hanging one of those fly curtains in the door. So we figured - that's what we needed to restore the peace in our office.

So, equipped with a bunch of Injection Minis and bead moulds from Sustainable Design Studio, we set about making 9,000 beads, stringing them up and hanging them in our door. And you'll now be pleased to know that we're living a fly-free existence in our office! 🙌

I had them growing up in the 1970s made with a kind of hard paper beads then my kids had them in the 1990s made with plastic! I still love them!

You can also quill recycled newspaper into beads and coat them with paint and mod podge to seal them. It takes forever, sort of like crocheting an afghan. But you can make designs and personalize it. And its lighter than beads.

From the thumbnail I thought you were making Spokey Dokeys! Now THAT'S a 90's throwback!

For me, more like the 60s!!! Those would make beautiful Rosaries as well. When I bead them, I use certain colors in a specific order to remember the events in Jesus's life with each decade

Hi Guys!
I must admit that I DON'T remember the beaded doors from the '90's.
However, I DO remember them from the late '70's!
You really need to sell them because they are making a comeback.

I remember those from the 30s they were shinier maybe smaller beats. Maybe it was because the doors were higher. Maybe it was a drifting smoke. Or the heavy padded silence of the furniture.

These look so cool with the sprues attached. I think you could do chandeliers or Christmas ornaments with your setup.

The only thing I don’t like was that they weren’t perfectly lined up at the same level. (OCD BRAIN 🧠)

Could use some time in a tumbler to get the lines at the mold plate junction.
