Imagine death showing up to your doorstep when you are 80, holding an Nintendo game and refurbished NES.

Death just does its job, but even it understands life.

I love this. Not only is Death a benevolent being, he’s also like a fairytale creature; he has to follow his own rules. He told the girl she could have 1 more game, and then by complete accident she “tricked” him by falling asleep before completing it. He’s forced to let her live longer, but he doesn’t mind the loophole, and he takes the game with him to let her live even longer.

Death giving an innocent little girl a second chance at life, this kinda wholesome activity is what fuels me 🥹

She'd be 87-93ish by the time it comes, she'd welcome death as an old friend and finish the game she started

"So.... this means the little girl is basically immortal and can do anything for 80 yea..."

Giving death a personality is always a joy to see

No one ever asks Mr death if this is a fun job he has. If you really think about it. He probably sees a lot of innocent people goo.

Death: Well, you can get it back in 80 years. i think it's a fair trade.

In all seriousness, that was kind of the reaper willing to let this kid whom im guessing is very sick to live 8 decades, im surprised Merry didn't follow the whole you touch death you automatically die trope

When i typed this comment, i didn't think i would get over 6K likes blows my mind

I love the internet trope of death beeing, while cold and absolute, very nice and understanding

I was ready to start bawling. A struggling mother buys her sick daughter a gaming console for Christmas only to have the little girl pass away would have been cruel.

Such a happy ending. I really needed that. 😊

Once, we had a dog that got kicked by a fully grown bull. He was supposed to bleed out and die overnight, with no chance of recovery. We all piled in the living room with him to hold vigil.

He was merrily eating breakfast in the kitchen the next morning. We couldn’t believe it. The vet couldn’t believe it. He lived on to be 14 years old, before his back legs finally quit working as happens to a lot of large dogs when they get old.

I have to think Death passed us by that night.

I love these interpretations of death, he has a sinister appearance but is truly kind. he's there to help us at a point where the ones we love cannot.

I enjoy the sympathetic Death character. Not that you sympathize with Death, but they're understanding and comforting. A lot of the time Death is a scary presence that kills with a single touch, but I enjoy it when they're more like the last vistage of comfort before moving on

My friend lost her sister to blood cancer (leukemia) at a very young age, I knew her. She always loved videogames, especially Pokémon.

This video reminded me of her. My friend and I still talk, and I know that she still misses her little sister, who couldn’t? A joyful little girl too young to leave this world.

This brought me a tear. Thank you for reminding of such precious memories.

It is the Duty. But Death is not without compassion. He cares. He respects every person he meets. He makes time for each. In many ways, he is no less than the best friend mortals have ever had. He cures the sick, once and for all. He makes all suffering fade away. He brings rest peaceful and serene to the weariest. After all...

What else can the harvest care for, if not the care of the Reaper Man?

Besides... it is Christmas, after all. What better gift is there to give than a future?

Damn that hits so hard. Being death must be hard sometimes. In situations like this even he can't go through with his job and cuts corners for the sake of the living. Such a good guy he is.
