Orion Constellation is back. So it is time for another Orion Nebula Observation. The focus was slightly off and it was cloudy, I think the results are still beautiful. I hope you enjoy!

Telescope: 10" f5 1200mm

I just saw this through a telescope for the first time last week. I had seen Jupiter and Saturn through a scope and that's one thing, but this was something else entirely. It's hard to describe the difference between what the eye sees and what the camera sees (or maybe it's actually our standard display tech that's letting us down here). The dynamic range of our eyes is so much better, the stars have a piercing, glinting brightness to them that is almost hard to look at. The illumination/reflection of the nebula from the stars is somehow more obvious as well. The color is mostly absent, which is kind of a bummer, but it's still very much a remarkable and memorable sight.

Thanks for sharing these, it's so helpful for folks to get an idea of what to expect, but I'd also recommend everyone take the opportunity to take a peek live as well, it's impossible to reproduce in this format and is worth it IMHO.

As much as appreciate spreading the astrophotography hobby to a larger audience on Youtube, I don;t appreciate the misrepresentation, especially with the link to a sales site. In the video you show a Sirius, or possibly last generation Atlas mount, but your link points to a more expensive EQ6R-Pro. That's kind of not cool. If people went to the link thinking they are getting what is needed to replicate your results, then found out they didn't need to spend nearly that much, they would be rightly upset. Please list the actual equipment used, don't try to upsell for Highpoint Scientific. We need Outreach in the hobby, popularizing science is a worthy task, but do it honestly.

Superb! Orion is my favorite constellation and (to me at least) is a harbinger of winter. I finally saw it this year last night.

"The cosmic fire of creation." Comments like that, from a civilization (and several others across the globe in that time frame and earlier) that didn't have the means to closely study the cosmos, blows my mind.

Beautiful constellation. There are two hypergeant and very hot luminous stars. Betelgeuse on top and left side and Rigel on right down side of the constellation. Those stars are ones of the strongest stars in our galaxie

The initial 'Orion belt' was much more defined & recognisabe, .... it goes to show how 'depth of field'(adjustable focus) and post capture or live filtering into a larger mirror can both enhance & detract.
