What is the Shannon capacity theorem?

Long before wireless devices became ubiquitous, a brilliant mathematician named Claude Shannon had already determined one of the fundamental limits they would face. The Shannon capacity theorem bounds the rate that information can be transmitted across a noisy channel.

love the fact that my professor back in the day as talented and successful as he was, could not explain something as simple at this theorem.

It s very use full and easy to understand

I mean... it is pretty easy to see why it is correct.
if you multiply and divide the inside by N, it becomes
C = B (log(N+S) - logN)

Any actual examples of how to do the calculation? like what would be the units of the values we plug in etc.

Question: Is it only for Wireless medium ? or applicable in wired medium as well??

Good thing we invented Signal to Noise Voter comparator .., greatly reducing "N", allowing us greater "S" and more transference... Just a thought

I think the Shannon limit should be characterized by a certain BER? I mean if one exceeds it how much degradation will take place?

what does capacity signifies in the context of an FM radio ?

if Bandwidth (300-3200), and SNR 20, what is bandwidth here??

What, exactly, is bandwidth? I have had trouble understanding it all my life. Cannot find a satisfactory explanation anywhere.

nst as interesx or not, ts not scaryx or part of lx, doesn't matter, no scaredx intimidax etc for such or anyx, nonerx

So in term s of timespace physics, space is bandwidth and time equals purity of transmission.
