DIY Shop First Aid Station - For the Shipping Container Shop

Making a DIY First Aid Station for my tiny shipping container shop. In the video I'll show you how I repurposed a generic AED cabinet by adding shelving, aluminum trim, first aid supplies and create a pedal/pulley mechanism for a 'unique' take on wound irrigation. Overall it was a fun and creative process build and I hope it might give you some ideas or inspiration for a build of your own.
Thanks for watching and Please let me know if you have any questions.
-Joe

Thanks to all that have mentioned to add a tourniquet and medical super glue. I already have the medical grade super glue in our house first aid kit.. but just forgot to add it in here. A little bit of a rushed stocking for the video. But both will certainly be going in there. Thanks to all who suggested them😊🙏

The emergency stash of stress reliever, pain reliever, antiseptic was the best part

Love the steam-punk water pump. Overproduced like a White Snake album.

So...my paint-stained and oil soaked rag that I keep nearby in case of an emergency seems inadequate after watching your video! No, seriously, as always your attention to detail and ability to implement your ideas are always top-shelf. You provide all of us a master-level shop class with each video. Hope all is well on the homestead.

Great job & it wouldn't be right if you didn't add that n nice shiny trim that's your trademark to this project also like the foot panel on the bottom. Great concept in adding a foot a foot pedal on your box.
You may not of thought this. But your hands are free to open your eyes to flush them out, hold your eyes open & run it wide open.
I've been in the medical field for nearly over 45 years & this has to be one of your best ideas yet. WTG JOE! I'm impressed & love the way you've designed it. Might need a little tweaking, but your on the right track.
Please, et us know, around the 4 week mark. Keep up on the great progress,
Chris from Missouri

The wound closure device is neat. Definitely a must have for any garage/shop. Keeping your first aid somewhere noticeable also means anyone will be aware of where to look. That is pretty important if you are unable to articulate where you keep your first aid.

Joe, I love how well thought out, functional, and precise your projects are. You definitely build everything to last, plus the end result always looks professionally made. Thanks for sharing! ~Margie 🍾🥃 Cheers!

Done with a First Responders Heart! Nice work Joe. One thing I really appreciate about your channel, no fluff. You don't make a bogus video just to churn out content. I'm serving my local community now as a Fire Commissioner. Got a lot of respect for you folks. Hope all is well.

Ha Ha, you do have a painkiller.
I like the idea of mounting the station on the door; makes it super accessible when you're working at the shop on an outside project.

“Unnecessary “ foot pedal was pretty cool. I would have never thought about doing that. Ingenious!

LOL I actually did a skit on my trauma supplies video about using whiskey! That's hilarious! The cabinet is simply brilliant Joe! Of course you had to take it up a notch and add a foot pedal wound washing feature! We would expect nothing less from you! Love it! 😁

Very neat. I have one by the garage door (without the floor wash mechanism) mounted on a French cleat so that it can quickly be taken to the scene of any incident in the garden or, more likely, the woodpile.

Medical cabinet and fire extinguisher are two good ideas for any shop. But the added medicinal alcohol and glass really boost this project. Great job!

Interesting. I recently got a very nice used first aid cabinet that is wall mounted. We’ve all seen those many times before. It came out of a medical office. It’s good sized, already has shelves and compartments for everything. Works for me.
