In this video, you can find 4 DIY deodorant recipes - a common one, a second one for sensitive skin (without baking soda), a third without coconut oil, and another one that’s a spray deodorant.

The recipes are natural, vegan, zero waste, and easy to make. The key ingredients that you will need to combat the bad smell & keep your armpits fresh are:

Coconut oil: Antimicrobial properties that kill fungi, yeast, and bacteria, while hydrating your skin.

Arrowroot powder: Moisture and oil absorbent, with healing properties.

Baking soda: Odor-absorbing, neutralizing the smell of sweat. Not the best for very sensitive skin.

Shea butter: Antibacterial properties, moisturizing, and helps to reduce inflammation.

Bentonite clay: It has highly adsorptive properties. It can absorb odors, oils, bacteria, and acts as a physical protective action on the skin.

Ethanol alcohol: Effectively kills bacterias & germs and keeps bad odor away. It can be quite drying for sensitive skin, so keep that in mind.

Apple cider vinegar: Naturally kills bacteria & non-toxic.

Essential oils: Antibacterial properties while adding a fresh scent. Use only high quality, natural & therapeutic grade.

I have very sensitive skin and have been looking for a more sustainable alternative for my deodorant for a while now. I tried the third recipe (without coconut oil) and it’s my favorite deodorant ever! It’s SO easy to make and it feels super nice on my skin, besides I have no smell at all after the whole day just applying it after my morning shower, no stains on my clothes or anything! Highly recommend this one if you have sensitive skin 🥰

First deodorant I tried had baking soda. It really burned my armpits. I made #2 and #3, and #2 is my favorite! It absorbs great and doesn’t leave oil stains on my clothing!! I used tea tree oil in this and love the smell! #3 absorbs well also, but takes a tiny bit longer to melt. It took two weeks for my pits to get used to natural deodorant. Thank you for these amazing recipes😘

Chinese didn’t have armpit odor when I was there in the eighties. Something about their diet.
I use hand sanitizer every couple days. Seems to work well.
These are very wonderful ideas. I still might try one. I really appreciate your efforts.

The acid in the apple cider vinegar helps change surface skin ph and kills or makes it more difficult for bacteria to propagate. You might try lemon juice or other acidic fruit. Not sure if lemon will be sticky or not… lemon is little less acidic also so not sure if it’s as good but probably worth a try. Plus the benefit of the lemon smell.

Thank you so much. I am going to ahead and make the third one today. I loved the feedback on each of them after you used them. I don’t want a greasy one, as it tends to stain my clothes. Waiting for the spray deodorant 😀

Thank you! I will try recipe number 3. Thinking about pouring the warm mixture into an empty deodorant stick container so once it hardens I can twist it like regular deodorant.

Thanks for the video! I would like to try #2 as it seems less "oily" feeling. Would you also add aloe vera gel from the garden somehow?
