If the best matches are played week in week out then it doesn't remain as best or special games it just becomes a regular match it's just like saying worldcup should happen after 2 years it takes the speciality of the event

I loved the way Barcelona, Madrid and Juventus were banned from the UCL for 3 years, then all 3 entered it.

"Football is unsustainable" Here's an idea, stop paying ridiculous transfer fees and wages to players.

The real reason the European clubs want this to go ahead is cos financially they can not compete with the money that the Premier League clubs rake in. They're broke & in order for them to get money this Super League project is kinda like their saviour. I do think there should be a cap on how much every club can spend tho as the money involved in football these days is ridiculous the wages players are on the transfer fees involved

Regardless of the team you support, you cannot stand behind it. That's not football, it will not live up to their expectations. I absolutely adore David vs. Goliath matches, the unexpected factor, the smaller stories, the teams that means something for their hometown.
Football is not a terrible bussiness, but they want more, always more, we should say no. Less revenue more soul is what I stand for.

This just stinks of Juve, Barca and RM desperately clinging onto the hope of the super league as they know they can't survive without it. Whever happens we know that PL clubs won't be joining after the backlash so the remaining teams need to rope in French/German clubs otherwise it'll be totally dead

Young people not going to live matches might have something to do with prices.

As Didier Drogba once said:
"ITS A DISGRACE. ITS A F**KING DISGRACE!"

the emotional tone, camera work and facial expressions are hilarious. theres nothing wrong with european football, theres something wrong with 3 broke clubs.

So they want to create a 'super league' because its what the younger audience wants, yet 18 months ago, most if not all football fans were against this preposterous idea.
Really makes sense.

The big clubs have to learn to manage their own money and stop paying players money that the club just doesn't have.

Absolutely not. He’s not wrong about some clubs having ridiculous amounts of money (PSG, City etc) but the ESL is not the solution to this. We the fans will not stand for it

I'm guessing Barca and Juve have thrown their toys out the pram because they've been relegated to Europa

The super league already exists. It's the Premier League.

I love the bitterness and jealousy towards the premier league. Easily the best league in the world.

Funny. It literally will just be La Liga with Juventus lol.

I understand why the Spanish & Italian clubs want the Super League. When the FFP was implemented, it was just at the perfect time for English football, where the money was great and lots of new owners were buying clubs. Italian football finances were down massively and so was much of Spain's wealth. It was truly unlucky timing, as this system simply protects the richest clubs and basically insures that the Premier League will never be back of the line ever again. The money flow within the Premier League is something that Italy and Spain can never compete with, so the Super League is the only way for the big European clubs to gain in on English football. At least while FFP is still in effect. One way to get around ESL would be to abolish that system...
