The Birds is a 1963 American natural horror-thriller film produced and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, released by Universal Pictures and starring Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette, and introducing Tippi Hedren in her film debut. Loosely based on the 1952 short story of the same name by Daphne du Maurier, it focuses on a series of sudden and unexplained violent bird attacks on the people of Bodega Bay, California, over the course of a few days. The screenplay is by Evan Hunter, who was told by Hitchcock to develop new characters and a more elaborate plot while keeping du Maurier's title and concept of unexplained bird attacks.

You had to dig deep to recognize that 1951 Cranbrook Belvedere at 3:10.
Nobody else would, except a real afficionado of the Plymouth line,

When reading the title I said to myself, "um, an Aston-Martin DB4?" Couldn't think of any others. Glad you have the eye out.

Thanks.
I was born in San Francisco in 1954. Grew up near there and lived in the city from '77 to '91.
Also worked at a shop in Union Square from 1980 to 1989. I remember Union Square the way it was in the movie.

This is one of the earliest movies I remember seeing in the theater as a boy. I was 6 in 1963. I think the only movies I can remember seeing before this was Breakfast At Tiffanies in 1961 or 1962. And Babes In Toyland in 1961, I think. If you note my last name, I got teased a lot at school in 1963 because of this movie. I was always fascinated by the cars in this movie, especially the Aston Martin. Until the internet I always though it was one of the big Healeys. The other big movie my dad took us to in 1963 was The Great Escape. He was so excited to see that movie, he had spent nearly 3 years as a POW in Germany during the war and had taken part in some tunnel escape attempts. 1963 was a great year for movies.

0:54 I think that's '49-'51 Ford woody in the background. 1:28 a few more just for giggles: next to the early '60's bow tie pick up is a '61 Chrysler, '59 Chevy wagon and in the upper left corner a, '57 or '58 Mercury. 1:40 '55 or '56 Ford. Nice job again Kidd! I have to admit this is the one movie that truly creeps me out. I just watched Bullit last weekend. There's a classic car lovers movie!(Along with it's a Mad×4 world).

The blue and white Buick at 3:55 is a 1955 not a 1956. Enjoy your videos.

Ironic use of music in this video as the original movie had no musical score...!
