HONEST House Tour! I want to show you what our LIVED IN house really looks like! I'm tired of seeing the same gorgeous, unattainable homes on my Insta feed and feeling like what I have "isn't good enough." What I have is AMAZING! I am so grateful for our home and content with its flaws and lack of AESTHETIC. It doesn't have to be perfect!

I think because the kids are home schooled, there is never a gap of time for you to pick up the clutter before they make new clutter. So they are moving from room to room pulling things out for play, or being creative, etc. Plus, there's twice as many smaller hands making messes compared to two adult hands picking up.

I love that you have patience and allow Duncan to complete his thought as he speaks. I grew up when what kids said didn’t matter. I was quickly dismissed. I think that’s why I struggle speaking to people at times, especially when I know they are actually listening to me! I enjoy writing, instead.

I love how honest you are, how you show life with children isn’t about the perfect picture that took an hour to prep for. It’s a home that’s lived in, its lots of little messes and to do lists but most importantly it’s full of love and best intent. It’s books sprawled out on the floor because reading is amazing and it’s shoes found in most corners of the house because our babies have spent the day outside enjoying the sun and the bugs. Also the night stand situation is real. Mine has a couple more cups of tea and water that I never got to finish. ❤️🌻✨ you’re doing an amazing job

As kid (almost adult, hey-o!) who watches those fancy families with fancy house, thank you for making this real. When I was younger, I had a desk that looked just like Bailey’s. And there was crayon on the walls. While the house is neater now (it gets easier as kids get older!), it still isn’t magazine ready. The flooring in half the house is redone but not the other. Our kitchen tiles are peeling up because the rabbit chewed them. Our picture frames are not all the same color. Our dishes don’t match. And we have *stuff.* Everywhere. Seriously. I don’t understand what people do with all the stuff that comes with life. We talk about grand plans for our house, and sometimes little things get done like painting, but we’ve lived here for 12 years. It’s simply real life.

Parker is one fierce kid, you can tell with that energy he’s gonna become some sort of performer. And he has some incredible family friends, and an incredibly supportive family. I can’t wait to watch him grow up and see the person he becomes

Jessica you literally made me cry when you said "life doesnt have to be perfect right now." My boyfriend and I are currently saving for an apartment/house and right now where we are living we are having struggles with things breaking and sharing limited space. It is so meaningful to get that reminder from a person i admire so much for being such a good mother of so many children and taking care of life no matter how it comes. I love that I can see where you've prioritized the improvements and fixes within your house and family. Every time you mentioned the cost of something, I imagined what I budget for a week vacation. So home improvement, or vacation? I would definitely choose vacation, unless something in the house REALLY needed work. And with your family size, how do you turn down good times and happy memories just to have a more picturesque home?
