Very well explained. The local guy had deliberately tightened my clutch, hoping that I'd get him to work at it soon. I told him to adjust it but he replied that it needs change soon, no more adjustments. I'm sure it has a lot of life left even when I drive within city limits for short distances involving lots of wear and tear.

Nicely explained.. just a suggestion. It would be nice if you could also explain if the play is too much. Too much play will result in clutch not disengaging fully which can cause hard gear shifts.
