Pull ups are such an underestimated workout. Like 90% of people cant even reach 10 including muscular people since it's dependent on both weight and upper strength. If someone tells you they can easily do 20 in one go, 99% of the time, they talking bullshit.

In may I was able to do 3 ugly pull ups. I start training seriously and yesterday I managed to do three clean pull-ups with 15% of my body weight. It's insane how much you can improve yourself if you want to.

Done listening to anyone else but Mike. I can’t train like a 20 year old bull anymore.

I’m currently doing loaded pull ups with a 20lb weight vest. I’m hitting 5-7 reps. 5 really clean with nice eccentric control.

It’s a similar feeling to when you grab light dumbbells after very heavy dumbbells. They feel like you’re lifting nothing.

When I was 17, I almost blew my back out under heavy squats. A trip to my chiropractor showed slight curvature of my spine.
Dr. recommended me to strengthen my entire back muscles by doing lots of lat work to help support my spine. After 2 years, my back was so strong, I used to be able to climb a rope to the top of a tree using no legs to assist.
I used to be able to do weighted pullups with 2 45# plates strapped to a weight belt for 6 reps.
I could do my body weight 40-50 reps.
That was a lifetime ago it seems. 54 now.
