the absurdist philosopher, Albert Camus spoke to the importance of being an authentic individual. Because in doing so, that's when you truly get to experience a fulfilling life.
The grandfather of existentialism, Friedrich Nietzsche, also shared a similar idea when it came to being a sincere and authentic person. He believed that when we care too much about what people think, that we can have a tendency to fit in--which tears us away from the nature of behaving authentically.
