a staff sling is pretty much just a hand powered trebuchet.

So trebuchets are XXL sized staff slings

something i never really see talked about in the slinging community is about Ammunition Holding bags, in almost every painting where balearic slingers are depicted they always had a bag either crossbody or on their waist but i never see people talk about those bags, you should make a video on them it would be cool.

The Balearic sling sound is so cool, and it just looks neat. I gotta try one someday but im afraid of using slings and hurting myself lol. I could use tennis ball but eventually id know id want to use something else.

I personally think that staff sling is much too short. A longer staff and sling should add more distance and speed to your throws.

You put ALOTTT of trust in your body. The kid in Christmas Carol lost an eye. You sir, could’ve lost a frontal lobe or a couple of ribs!! Slings are much stronger than the average person knows

Anyone who is a good beachcaster ( shore fishing) would be great at staff slinging . Hi David, Keith from Dalkeith Midlothian . Hope you're well .

What do you think of slings like the cree rock stick? Instead of two hands its a one handed stick sling.

Didn’t know we had handheld trebuchets

A plain sling in the hands of a trained pitcher can achieve similar power to a staff sling. Having footwork like that of pitchers also helps.

Some people say that David used a staff sling in the Bible, because he took his staff to face Goliath, but I have serious doubts about this statement. The shepperd sling was very common in the Mediterranean in ancient times, used by greeks, romans, assyrians, babylonians, egyptians and celts, and is still used today in the Middle East by young people. The staff sling, on the other hand, was a siege weapon, and as far as I know there are no references to it being used in the region in ancient times. It makes no sense for a young shepherd to use a siege weapon when the common sling is still used today by children taking care of livestock. The staff was probably a way of symbolizing David's status as a humble shepherd.

It's always out of shape or old LARPers doing this stuff. How about an athletic person (as soldiers using them would have been)
