Over-prescribing antibiotics can lead to resistance, ineffectiveness

New research finds that drugs used to treat common infections in children and babies are no longer effective in large parts of the world because of high rates of antibiotic resistance. Pediatrician Dr. Pilar Bradshaw at Eugene Pediatric Associates says antibiotics can be a powerful tool in fighting bacterial infections, but there’s a danger in over-prescribing them.
