This is still greatly concerning for us here in Trinidad. Crime rates are already high for a multitude of reasons and the amount of high powered military hardware that is appearing in criminal hands is alarming!

I wouldn't doubt that this military buildup is not helping that situation at all since the country already had a near collapse long ago and the amount of (il)legal migrants we've had from the mainland is staggering as is. Needless to say the bad apples have brought their crime and connections with them if it didn't exist already.

I sincerely hope that this goes nowhere outside of posturing. Our governments have never had to truly engage with a conflict/war and they are not prepared for it in the current political climate.

I've never understood the hate the Maginot Line gets. The Germans were forced to go around it. Where as the Sigfried Line was an abject failure the Americans defeated with a shovel.
