He was fine until he got into that dark industry. It’s the same sad ending for so many precious and talented artists. There’s a whole evil dark side that sucks out the soul. Rest easy sweet songbird 🌹

Donnie shouldn't have been alone that night he fell to his death. Especially after he was seen huddled in a corner at the studio, making delusional statements. This man was a genius in a class all his own. His voice and musical sound can never be replaced. He is missed dearly ❤

He had a Beautiful voice. What a gift he was! His daughter, Lalah's voice is just as beautiful and as rich as his. His songs make you think, smile, and reflect. I'm thankful he recorded songs with Roberta Flack. Great duo. RIP Mr. Hathaway. 🙏🏽💛

You Got A Friend. My favorite song. No one sound, sang, or even tried to imitate his voice. The man was truly gifted.

I'm 49 and I think about Donnie everyday since 1985, every year I play his Christmas song. And everyday I play his music. My ex husband has schizophrenia and it's impacting me to this day.

Donny Hathaway is one of my all time favorite musician/singers of all time. He was a gifted genius and he pass that gene to his beautiful daughter. She sounds just like him. See you when you return in the next life.

Donny is My favorite singer of all time. He and Aretha Franklin’s voices were like instruments. Donny is in heavy rotation on my playlists daily. When I first heard Luther Vandross sing, I could hear that he was inspired by Donny after singing background for him and Roberta Flack. Luther had his own personal style, but the riffs between falsetto to deep tenor, were definitely inspired by Donny, Luther (another favorite gone too soon😢) definitely was inspired, but was definitely an original too. RIP to all of the talented beloved performers we love, who have given us so much joy. ❤☮️

I remember him before Roberta Flack. Was always a fan. He made a song recorded live entitled, ‘The Ghetto’ that was a storm in the AA community. Sort of like an anthem. He remade ‘A Song for You’ that was recorded again by his daughter. Fantastic singer, as is Laila.

I watched a video on YouTube, about 2 months ago. In the video, it revealed the nefarious tactics of certain CIA agents. An agent was to assassinate someone, who was a problem. 2 men worked together on a project. One of the men was becoming concerned about the work. He became a mark. He eventually was said to have jumped from a hotel window. But the YouTube video revealed he had been pushed. One agent was quoted as saying, the pushing method posed little problem, being labeled as suicide. I immediately thought about Mr. Hathaway.
I also remember stories of Mr. Hathaway saying they want to take over his music He adamant about concerns of being targeted. He was eventually diagnosed with being paranoid schizophrenia. 🤔
