We're not falling for it, but what can we do? The only compelling power of the common citizen is civil disobedience. Just look at the case of Gaza & Sudan, we have written letters, we have protested, we have done media campaigns & outreach, we have donated aid and money, we're at the point of begging the government to just show mercy, yet those war are still ongoing.
Government in the west have been captured by big business and big businesses by financial capital. The interest these government serve are those of the owners/controllers of financial capital. These predators see's us as prey at the bottom of the pyramid.

We tried the same thing in Australia, when PM, Golf Whitlam wanted to nationalise our mineral resources. He was removed from office by the British Crown, not surprising considering the Queen was majority shareholder of Rio Tinto, and the Americans also had a lot to lose, who had invested heavily into our resources sector. This informal, Anglo American empire is holding the world as a hostage and instigating and abetting in wars around the globe. It is therefore, no surprise that many nations are now turning towards China with its Belt and Road initiative, helping nations to develop, whilst respecting their sovereignty.

I watched the whole video waiting for this guy to say that the government hasn’t released the tallies by vote center yet. Of course, he didn’t. We Venezuelan are asking for transparency. Publish the tallies!

This analysis seems a bit one-sided; Chavez did have socialist dreams of re-distributing wealth and raising up the poor; but he failed to diversify the economy, and relied on the high price of oil between 2004-14 to spend (and borrow to spend) on his programs and for imports for things like medicine. Nationalization also meant local private industries were lost. While the US always has its own agenda, it seems like the failure of Chavez's economic planning played a big part in the country's problems - they were not simply the result of US sanctions.


And while this video says international election observers have reported a "calm, orderly process at the voting stations", this does not really address the question of whether the votes are being properly tallied, or that observers have in fact raised concerns about the results.
