Hard Work is a Scam: The Harsh Truth About the Corporate World

In this video, we break down why the corporate system is rigged against you, why working harder won’t make you richer, and how you can actually win in a world designed to keep you grinding for scraps.

People think that if you work hard and go above and beyond and dedicate your life to the company that your work ethic will be appreciated.

That could not be further from the truth. In fact, just the opposite is true.

People that put in late nights and weekends and those who take on extra job duties are looked upon as suckers by corporate managers -- People who can be pushed around and used.

And the sad fact is that the hardest workers sacrifice so much in the way of time with their family and friends - Many even sacrifice vacation time, bringing their work with them, never fully unwinding because they think that by doing so it will put them in a good light with their boss.

What many don't understand is that an employee, any employee good bad or indifferent is nothing more than a tool -- a cog in the corporate wheel. The company's mission is to extract as much from the employee as possible while paying them as little as possible. And when there is no further use for that person, cut them off. It doesn't matter how dedicated they are.

I'm 22, i watched my dad go through this. He worked his ass off for years in an oil and chemicals company, He was the most hard working employee, all it did was get more work delegated to him. He didn't spend much time with me and my two siblings, His weekends were so packed. I watched him burn out, He even passed out one time coming from work my mom had to pick him up. Sadly he eneded up dying of pancreatic cancer at 43, that was in 2018. I respect and honor his tremendous hardwork, but he never got to enjoy the fruits of his labour. He was a good man.

Lesson learned. Never go extra miles for your job. You will always be disappointed.

I totally agree. The younger people are realizing this. It’s refreshing. They’re just doing the bare minimum and it’s becoming the new normal

Hey Gen Z!!! - Please listen to this man. At 60, I can confirm this is true after 40 years of work. Corps are worst due to stockholder pressure, Fractional employment (contract 3-6 months), low wages to save money. Look out for YOU, (#1) Only take a job to "strategically "gain "skills" and "industry experience" to LATER start you own business or consult; Period.

"If hard work leads to success, the donkey would own the farm." - Old rural saying.

I don't remember where I heard this, but I wrote it down on a post-it note and I keep it on my computer screen as a reminder. :)

So true. The horrific reality is that we are never allowed to truly escape the popularity contest of high school. (And it is a horror story)

My whole life I worked my butt off, with a smile on my face and a good attitude. But I have been treated worse than an animal by most of my employers.
I'm 43, dying of breast cancer and I'm not sad. I'm exhausted and depressed from this wretched world

The sad reality -> adults never evolve beyond the teenager level, and everything is like a popularity contest.

Hard work is a bullshit. If you work for someone, do literally minimum just to not be fired, nothing more. If you work for yourself, work smart, not hard

I'd say that working hard for the first 1-3 years to get out of junior roles is worth it. But outside of that you just get taken advantage of.
