KFC 'VEGAN' CHICKEN BURGER - THE IMPOSTER!! | LONDON LAUNCH!

On June 17th, the KFC in Gloucester Road in London launched the Imposter Burger - KFC's vegan chicken sandwich. It's not too shabby for a sandwich that is just £2.99. Taste-wise, I felt the flavor throughout the sandwich was very savory and can become perhaps a bit salty after a few bites. That being said, the whole patty was seasoned throughout and did remind me of the KFC flavor. Texture was a winner with the patty having a a slightly chunkier texture than your typical grocery store vegan patty, which can be overly ground. The exterior had a nice "potato chip" crunch to it, but could have been a bigger showstopper. That being said, it is a £3 pound sandwich and hopefully it will provide more options for those looking for a plant-based option.

This is so exciting! I’ve been making vegan KFC famous bowls at home lately. I cannot wait until this comes to the US! That’s a good price for it! “Finger licking’ vegan” cute slogan! It looks good! I wish they would put more toppings on it. Yeah. The signature crunch would be what I expected too. Either way I’m happy that they have options! It’s a move in the right direction :)

As an FYI I think it won’t have the same coating as you mention because KFC coating is a buttermilk coating with their blend of seasonings, not sure if that can be created with vegan friendly ingredients or not, guessing not as it doesn’t have the same crunchy coating, to keep it fully vegan rather than just vegetarian, but we can surely hope they can replicate the cripiness another way

I often wonder yea vegan "meat" but what about the mayo the cheese are they frying it in the same oil as the real meats

Your right it needs more filings but it's still delicious. Also it reminds me of a McChicken burger now that you've mentioned it could be crunchier 😅
