A guided tour of the ancient city of Troy, conducted by longtime guide Uran SAVAS. In antiquity Troy was located at the western entrance of the "Hellespont".

Troy I-III 2920-2200 BC Early Bronze Age
Troy IV & V 2200-1740 BC Anatolian-Trojan Culture
Troy VI & VII 1740-1118- BC The Zenith of Trojan Culture (Homeric)
Troy VIII 700-85 BC Hellenistic
Troy IX 85 BC- 500 AD Roman

This specular tour mainly covers Troy VI thru IX, but touches on all the civilizations. I did not record every moment of the tour, there was much much more information from Uran.

Listening to the guide looking out onto the plane explaining where Achilles killed Hector, and where the Horse was brought through the gate to Cassandra's dismay (probably!) is spine tingling.
And all those 'ancient civilisations' that came after the destruction and built their tourist buildings there, like Alexander the Great and the Romans. All because of the Illiad, and the story it contained. Thank heaven it's come down to us in modern times. What a unique place.

The theatre may have been small because it was perhaps used for those famous Greek philosophical debates & decision making amongst the elders. Then a smaller space where everyone could be heard & the respective speakers/orators recognised makes sense.

It does seem a bit on the small side for theatre performances.

Shame how terribly it was excavated. Or should I say blown up. If only these places had been found later when practices had improved. It's great to see locations like Pompeii continue to make discoveries and even restore certain areas. I wish restoration could be done to the whole city. If I had the money I'd donate a good deal more to archeology and certainly restoration projects. Thanks for an interesting video. I'd love to visit here one day.

I am Norwegian and Snorri Sturluson while also Saxo documented real Odin was the grandson of the last king of Troy (Priam) and went to Scandinavia from the black sea and its why fulhark and Lydian look so similar, and the Longobards claimed descent from the Kings of Troy who were from the scandinavian tribe of winnili.
