I have heard guitar players and bands for the last 50 years and as I have gotten older I have learned to appreciate the extreme Talent and god-given gifts that are expressed through music. This Band with Derek and Susan reaches an emotional plateau that is to be appreciated. There isn't a touring band on the planet that can touch them. As for Derek, IMO he is there with Duane, Moore, Eddie, Jimi, and Stevie.

I am sure Duane is smiling down... hearing what he might have become had he longer on this planet.... so glad someone took the ball and is running into new dimensions with it. Not to mention the whole band is tight as a tick.

I began following Derek when he was 19 and Just joined the Allman Brothers. See him every time he comes around (Aug 28 Philly).
Nobody on the planet sounds like him. His guitar playing is exquisite. Modal Indian and African tones, swamp blues, jazz etc. He is fluent in all of it. What a master of his craft.

I was there both nights and in the front row no less. Both shows were downright spiritual for this old fan. But it's deeper than that, Derek and I are family. So watching him grow over the years as a player, producer, band leader, husband and dad has been a joy. His playing is transporting into areas that very few can get to. It's kind of like a journey through the songs. This version is spellbinding. I still get goosebumps every time I watch this. Thank you for posting it and most of all, thank you Derek and thank you Sue for the joyful noise you bring the world.

I do wonder what my late birthday brother Kofi would have brought to this track.
