DōMatcha®’s Organic Hojicha uses a proprietary blend of high quality, shade-grown Tencha leaves, pan-fired and slow roasted in the traditional methods in Kyoto. Most Hojicha tea uses lower quality Bancha leaves and stems making for a bitter taste. Since DōMatcha®’s Organic Hojicha uses only 100% autumn Tencha leaves, it offers notes of mesquite and an extremely smooth finish. Hojicha is often drunk after evening meals due to the low caffeine content. Our tetra shaped teabags, made from cornstarch, are used for a premium quality brew, releasing more nutrients and flavor over traditional teabags. (Each teabag makes approx. 3 cups of hot or iced tea).
