Clearly whoever at Microsoft is coming up with ads should be fired there's no place in the operating system for that

Another day, another reason to justify moving from Windows and not looking back.

Literally every change they're making is causing more and more people to switch to whatever version of linux they like

Ads don't make me buy their products. Most of the time, i skip over.

I miss the days of Win 7. This whole mess started with Win 8.

Microsoft blocks certain third-party software like Startallback, then wants to put ads on menus. It all makes sense.

"Despite being a $3 trillion company with $227 billion in revenue in 2023, Microsoft apparently feels the need to eke out more money from Windows users by annoying them with ads."

I’ve stuck with windows since win95. The moment ads appear on my machine it will be replaced with Linux or a Mac and I’ll never look back

Congratulations Windows11 you have successfully convinced me to permanently switch to Linux. Linux Mint has been my daily driver now for 6+ months and once Windows 10 is EOL all my PC's will be Linux. It only took a few days for me to get comfortable using Linux again..

Why in the hell is the Worlds most expensive company keep pushing ads on the expensive operating system that I bought. I mean if I bought it for 150bucks I should have control over it.

I certainly don't like dictators putting ads that I don't want! If I want to search on my own needs!!

Microsoft has a market share of around 74% of all business computers. So I doubt then they really care about what home desktop PC owners think. That said, I watched a video the other day what said Microsoft was also going to put nag ads in Windows 10 to try to force people on local accounts to sign with a MS Account. And, from what I've read from more than one source, they are also thinking about making Windows subscription based in the not to distant future. Could be why Linux has jumped from less than 2% of desktops to just over 4% in the last year, and why I'm now running Linux Mint Cinnamon.
