Hey Rich, I'm not disputing anything you've said, but I'd like to just share what I did with those reading/leaving comments here. I'd suggest you start with your respective Secretary of State and see if they have a Trademark office. I live in Tennessee and they do, so I went directly through them. You complete an online application, mail it to them and with everything in order, I had my trademark documents in 2 weeks. Fee was only $20. I didn't use USPTO, Legal Zoom, and certainly not an attorney. (Don't feel you need an attorney no matter how you go about it.) And just a note, I personally don't think SkillShare is necessary just for this one task, plus it's $165 bucks. And keep in mind, you only need a trademark for your business logo, not a copyright. Copyrights are for artists and authors to protect books, videos, music, etc. The trademark protects your business from other people using it for personal gain. And I know we're talking t-shirts, I wouldn't really bother with trying to trademark every logo you create for a shirt. Just take care of your biz logo and you should be fine. But yes, check your SOS for trademark filing. Hope this helps. 😁

*** $250...that's the USPTO basic filing fee. If you choose to use Legal Zoom or a Trademark Attorney you would pay their fee (ex: the $650 he paid Legal Zoom) + the USPTO filing fee.
