2022 ACE Studio Program artist: Shaye Dương

Shaye Dương is an emerging artist who graduated from Adelaide Central School of Art in 2021. Utilising sculptural processes of casting and assemblage, Dương’s practice examines human engagement with objects and sites associated with intimacy, security and ritual. Often leaning on her own diasporic experience with translational slippages and spatial uncertainties, Dương aims to create new material forms that hold traces of both the familiar and arcane.

Recent exhibitions include Hatched, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, and Telesm, Firstdraft, Sydney, both 2022.

Dương was selected to participate in the 2022 Studio Program in partnership with Adelaide Central School of Art.
