My grandmother and mother, both devout Christians, have always voted Republican in presidential elections till 2012. But my grandmother, whose great-grandparents fled famine in Ireland, refuses to support Trump because of her Christian faith. She says True Christianity teaches love, compassion, and kindness for all people, regardless of race or background. Racism and bigotry are the complete opposite of those values. As Christians, we’re called to stand up against hate, not embrace it. There is no place for racism in our faith, and supporting leaders who promote division is a betrayal of the core principles of Christianity.
