My grandmother has grown coral and kept reef tanks for like 40 years and is super knowledgeable about every aspect of it. She’s had Alzheimer’s for awhile now and she’s not getting any younger either. Lately I’ve been considering getting her to teach me how it all works. I’ve kept fish all my life but never had a reef tank, although I used to help her maintain hers as a kid, so I at least have some idea of what I’m doing. Im really tempted to take the plunge and try it out.

Why not grow coral and donate it to marine science facilities so they can try to use it to repopulate the great barrier reef and many other places where coral is being killed off? Kind of like how we grow trees and replant them when they're larger.

this made me wondering..
is it possible to make a pressurized tank for deep sea species ?
its gonna be a little technical with an "airlock "system for feeding.
it would look cool with the flourescent effect they make.
