Windows 11 Steam Deck LCD - How to Guide for Best Experience - Part 1

Make your Windows install disk with rufus, if you want it to, it cuts out all the endless questions, local account creation can be done automatically by ticking a box.

The trick to setup and use a local account during the Windows install process is to NOT connect to WiFi or internet. Then you will have an option to go through the 'Limited' setup process.

If you have a keyboard connected, hit Shift F10 when you get to the 'sign into wifi' screen (which is *before* you sign into your microsoft account). Then type `taskmgr` and hit enter. Then open up background processes, find Network Connection Flow, and end the task. It'll take you past the sign into wifi and sign into microsoft account screens.

So, I want to install Celeste’s automated drivers install thing, but I’ve already installed the basic drivers for Windows that were on Steams website. So my question is, do I have to get rid of the drivers that are already there before I run the auto installer? Or will they just overwrite them?

I would love if Steam deck tools had gyro as an option for x360 so we could use it with any game. Alot easier to use than Handheld Companion but without gyro its a no go. Thanks for the guide

Wondering if you can help me. I have windows 11 on my deck and have fallout 3 installed. I plan to stream using obs. Whenever I stream because of the default 16:10 deck ratio on my tv there are black borders when viewing on my tv. Any idea how to make it full screen on both the deck and when viewing on tv?

I tried installing the adrenaline software. Would not install. I installed the ccc2 and still wouldn't work

When I reboot I get the following message about RivaTuner: "Direct3D9 components cannot be hooked right now. It is stonrly recommended to restart application"....any idea how to fix that?....pops up every boot up.

I don't know if valve or microsoft improved windows 11 to run on steam deck, coz I just installed today, and the controllers worked right off the bet! that's great. still thanks for your quick tips and help! ;) also... on the windows install choose English (world) then it doesn't come with junk like normally does

I noticed that you don't actually have to hold on to the plus button after pressing the power button.
Releasing both buttons after pressing them should still load to the boot menu.

some corrections:
1) it does not improve display's scaling
2) none of the drivers are made from the community, they are all from valve and windows update.

One tip, when doing Autologin. I kept getting invalid username/pass when trying to run the program with a 4 digit number password. When I switched my password to "letters and numbers" it worked for me
