2019 Ford Everest/Endeavour Titanium v Toyota Prado VX off road comparison review

Toyota Prado — it’s a name synonymous with off-roading and, evidently, astronomical sales. Over 16,000 in 2014 to be exact, for a market share of a little over 15 per cent.

So, when Ford Australia announced that the Ranger-based Ford Everest would take on the Prado both in terms of price and off-road ability, we packed our camping gear and hit the bush for some proper off-road driving.

To put these vehicles into context, they are both ladder frame-based SUVs that are designed to carry seven people and offer class leading off-road capability. Pricing for the Prado starts at $52,990 for the five-seat GX and caps off at $84,490 for the top-specification seven-seat Kakadu.

The Everest on the other hand starts from $54,990 for the seven-seat Ambiente and finishes at $76,990 for the top-specification seven-seat Titanium.

Here In India, Prado is almost Three times the price of Everest (Endeavour here)
So they aren't even competitors.
But undoubtedly Ford has invested a genuine engg. in this machine if it competes with the mighty prado.

Australian delivered Toyota Prado 100% made in Japan vs Ford Everest which is made in Rayong, Thailand with engine made in Eskisehir, Turkey and gearbox made in Michigan USA. One vehicle is Japanese thru and thru, the other is quite international.

You must be crazy to compare a high piece of Japanese engineering with a disposable American machine.

Here in the philippines, toyota prado cost about 4 million pesos while the ford everest is 2 million pesos. . Top of the line model 2016

I think from a perspective of living with a car for 10 years compared to a few days I would choose the Toyota hands down.

Well, these two cars are versatile. They were both good in on and off road. But, if you want to know the true power of the Land Cruiser Prado, then use the 4.0 V6 engine, there's no major changes in the exterior and also interior, but obviously under the hood. I almost forgot this was a nice review.

I currently have a everest. Had a prado to gutless towing and up hills and thursty. still happy with my desision of trading it in. Haven't had 1 fault. Had 2 years. Will c in another 8 years. I did change to A/T tyres been to cape York and highlands in vic. Not afraid to use it offroad. Who cares I've had both my personal preference is ford in everyway. Feel more safe on road with kids and for that sold me.
