The only thing good about the 2.2 is the fact that ford can keep selling the ranger into markets that are clamping down on emissions, 2.2ltrs of emissions vs 3.2 ltrs per same kms travelled, reliability wise- pushing a small engine to power a large vehicle isnt going to last

Eliminate mechanical efficiency draining engine power sourcing and the hot exhaust power source for the turbo and
go to battery power.
Recharge on low demand sections of terrain for turbo battery recharging.
